Purple Ribbon Day-Practitioners of Alternate Religions~Please pass on

Oh the things you find at MySpace...This one is worth passing on though.

All practitioners of Earth religions, Wicca, Shamanism, Druidry etc,
are being encouraged to wear a purple ribbon as a way of promoting religious tolerance and to potentially raise awareness.

From September 21-22 all practitioners of Earth religions, Wicca, Shamanism, Druidry,Witches etc. are going to wear little purple ribbons so everyone will know Who Else is...
a witch...wiccan...pagan...etc.

But....

No one can do this if they don't know about it, so pass the word along! This message goes to all Witches, Wiccans, Pagans from all sorts of traditions. We can make a day for Ourselves!! Actually, two days!!! You can buy a purple ribbon anywhere-at the dollar store, wal-mart, shoppers drug mart, anywhere...

Wear it in your Hair, or pin it up to your shirt. Make it public!!!

Spread the word.

  1. Of course, the irony of buying a purple ribbon made of synthetic fibers at Walmart (or Costco, or the dollars store, etc.) to show your affiliation for an earth-based religion is, possibly, the best ever.

  2. Sounds like a great idea to me! Of course, I remember some years ago when there was to be a "Wiccan/Witch Day" and all practitioners of the craft were going to wear a green button. That did not get much of a response. But times have changed and ribbons as a means of identifying with a social cause have become popular... so maybe this time it will work. (Also, ribbons are a heck of a lot easier to find than buttons).

    Let's go for it!

  3. That's odd. All purple ribbon days in the past have been about domestic violence. Did someone just make this up? I tried to look for something other than MySpace and came up short.
